I'm not the fish.

I'm not the fish.

TL;DR: Artur Warchavchik: Age, 24. Bachelor in Advertising in 2014, was a trainee in DM9DDB during the year of 2015 until I realized I wanted to further study filmmaking. Therefore, in 2016 I took a course at the New York Film Academy and currently I am looking for a place to hone my skills.

Photography was the first medium that I approached with more intensity. I don’t know exactly when I started photographing, but I remember stealing my dad’s camera when I was a kid. At the beginning they were only recordings, but as I grew up, I learned that things get more complex and interesting. This unpretentious beginning gave me a keen eye and in 2015 I was one of the winners of the Wikipedia's Wiki Loves Earth contest and was one of the best contributors to the Wikipedia archive, with 89 pictures from UNESCO Heritage sites.

All of my photographs are available under Creative Commons (CC BY-NC-SA 4.0), you are free to use them anywhere, except commercially, as long as you give me credit. You can find more pictures with higher resolutions on my Flickr page.

In order to reconcile my photography and cinema passions, I decided to study advertising. I always was in the creative area –flirting with Copyright– but Art Direction was my favorite and strongest subject. In 2014 I graduated from FAAP and got into DM9DDB 9th semester program. We presented a final job and at that moment I knew that I didn't want to follow that career.

Leaving DM9DDB, I travelled and worked as a freelancer. In August 2016 I was a volunteer at the Rio Olympic Games and in the next month I went to New York to take a filmmaking course in New York Film Academy. I produced, directed, wrote and edited 5 films and worked in 20 others. By the end of the course I started studying Cinematography on my own.
